Two stories chronicle the days of the bohemian, libertine youth of 1960s Rio de Janeiro.

Their conflictive relationship ends when Madalena discloses their inner feelings and secrets to each other.

Through the years the location varied slightly. Although the name of the soap remains the same, it is now set in the Múltipla Escolha High School.
