Oliver's Travels
“An eccentric professor and a policewoman pursue criminals and find love.”
Overview
Oliver is a middle-aged lecturer in Comparative Religion, with a passion for trivia, crosswords, and anagrams, and a very strange sense of humour. Having been fired from the University of the Rhondda Valley, and with no family ties, he decides to set off on a quest to find 'Aristotle', a setter of crosswords. He teams up with WPC Diane Priest, who has just been suspended for asking too many questions about a local murder that seems to implicate the Chief Constable. Pursued by 'The Man with No Name', the unlikely duo visit Shrewsbury, North Yorkshire, Durham, Hadrian's Wall, and Kirkleven in the Scottish highlands on their journey to find 'Aristotle' in the Orkney Isles.

Fate leads them not only into the Balaton-Residenz, but also to Tamás, the Hungarian hotel boss. Catrin immediately falls for the charming Hungarian, but Maja is the one to steal a kiss from him at the first opportunity, casting a shadow on the sisters’ otherwise close relationship. And the next disaster comes along, as their mother Kirsten has every reason to believe that her daughters’ trip to Hungary could wreak havoc on the family after an ominous phone call from Hungary. It chronicles the missions of a team of secret government agents known as the Impossible Missions Force. In the first season, the team is led by Dan Briggs, played by Steven Hill; Jim Phelps, played by Peter Graves, takes charge for the remaining seasons. It later inspired a popular series of theatrical motion pictures starring Tom Cruise, beginning in 1996.
